There are several factors that determine how often you should clean your gutters, but as a general rule and good practice, you should have them cleaned at least once annually. • Moss growth on your roof, close proximity to trees, wildlife/birds, all of which will increase the frequency of cleans
• Loose moss and leaves naturally fall into your gutters with wind, rain and even in warmer weather when moss and leaves dry up and fall off. 
• If you have birds around then you’re almost guaranteed to require regular gutter cleaning. Your roof is its own ecosystem and is a breeding and feeding ground for organic growth , insect etc. If you feed birds this can really impact on your gutters. pigeons are a particular nuisance as when they have a place to feed and often choose to live there, they hang around and feed all day and then drop it out all over your roof and gutters. • Water over flowing from gutters – If water is overflowing from your gutters, this can also be serious and cause bigger problems. Water overflowing generally means that gutters are completely full and/or downpipes are blocked.
